Down to Earth
|
Much fun was had by all at the recording of Radio Leicester's
"Down to Earth" programme. The event took place on Thursday, 5th March, was a great
success and was very well attended, all of us learning a lot about radio recording
as well as gardening! Apparently, Foxton was the location for the very first "Down
to Earth" recording, 25 years ago. The organisers would like to thank the presenters,
panel and technicians from Radio Leicester for giving us such an entertaining evening. |
Awards for All
|
We are very pleased to announce that Foxton Seedy Sunday has
been awarded a £1500 grant by Awards for All England, a joint Lottery grants programme
supported by Arts Council England, Big Lottery Fund, Heritage Lottery Fund and Sport
England. Meryl Cumber, heritage warden for Foxton, who is organising the event said:
"We're delighted to receive this grant which helps us to get Seedy Sunday off to a
great start. The recession means that more and more people are starting to grow their
own and this event is a perfect opportunity for us to develop a community vegetable
swapping network and provide information and support for local gardeners, whatever
their experience." |
